Rookie Harbor

Rookie Harbor is a location in CrossWorlds. It is the first town in CrossWorlds that players visit after they finish the beginner dungeon, Rhombus Dungeon.

Layout

Rookie Harbor is centered around a large market plaza with a fountain. The town's main building, the Seeker Hub, is located here. Heading south leads to the harbor itself, a popular meeting place for rookies, and beyond that to Beginner's Arc, a series of interconnected piers where the teleporter from Rhombus Square is located. West of the market is an area of town with several shops that connects to Autumn's Rise. The eastern area, heading towards Autumn's Fall, is geared towards higher-level players. A northern area can also be accessed after completing the Faj'ro Temple.

Other than the northern area, very few parts of Rookie Harbour are inaccessible. The exceptions are Traders Kontor 2F, unlocked during the New Metal quest, and Tala's Greenhouse, unlocked at the very end of the Crocus Pocus quest.

Connecting Regions

The regions adjoining Rookie Harbor are Autumn's Rise via Rising Exit, Autumn's Fall via Falling Exit, and Rhombus Square via the Harbor Teleporter in Beginner's Arc.

Rooms

Alley Quarters and its buildings are accessible after completing Faj'ro Temple. Traders Kontor 2F is accessible through the quest New Metal. Tala's Greenhouse is accessible after collecting all information on botanics, as part of the quest Crocus Pocus.

As it is a city, enemies can only be encountered in Rookie Harbor in special situations.

Botanics

The Sprout of Truth is in Dusty Storage. You must jump onto the boxes north of the fountain in the middle of Alley Quarters to access the upper level and go to the right to reach it.

Traders

Rookie Harbor has the most traders of almost any area, surpassed only by Rhombus Square with the A New Home DLC. Many are located in the Marketplace, and more are available in Alley Quarters upon completing Faj'ro Temple.

Shops

An item shop and an equipment shop can be found in Rising Exit, and occasionally gain new items for sale as the story progresses. A third shop in Alley Quarters that sells stronger equipment and backer consumables can be reached once that area opens. A fourth shop, selling only overpriced sandwiches, is a reference to Tara's Adventure, one of the developers' older projects.

Role in the Plot

In CrossWorlds

Rookie Harbour is the first destination for new Seekers arriving on the Croissant. Here, they must undergo a mandatory orientation that introduces them to Operation Trackwalker and teaches them about their goals in following the Track of the Ancients. During this orientation, they are given the Green Leaf Shade and the Disc of Insight, which unlocks their Encyclopedia, Statistics Menu and Monster Fibula.

Although it is never required for Seekers to return to Rookie Harbour after this orientation, the area serves as something of a hub area and home base, and frequently updates with new quests and traders.

In CrossCode

Lea and Emilie arrive in Rookie Harbour at the start of their CrossWorlds adventure, where they meet Lukas. He gives them a tour of the city, during which they take part in the introductory briefing on the Track of the Ancients. Afterwards, Lukas leaves to take care of First Scholars business, while Lea and Emilie form a party and head to Autumn's Rise.

When Lea logs on after completing the Faj'ro Temple, Emilie and C'tron are in Rookie Harbour, and ask Lea to meet up here. When she does, they tell her about the Para island raid and offer to join her for the Chase of the Hologram Frobbit quest.
